No link here earns us money yet. Here is exactly how it works if one is added.
The short version
At the moment no page on this site carries a partner link, and the site earns nothing from links. Some articles end with a suggestion that you might want to talk to a person, and that is the one place where a link to a service we have a paid partnership with may be added. If you followed such a link and went on to pay for something, we might be paid a commission. It would cost you nothing extra, and it would not change what we write. The rest of this page is the rule any such link is held to.
How to tell which links they are
Every page carrying one says so on the page itself, directly underneath the
link, in plain words rather than in a footer nobody reads. The links are also
marked in the page source with rel="sponsored", which is the
standard way of telling search engines that a link is paid.
A partner link never appears before the free part of a page. The order is always the same: what we have to say, then a calculation you can run for nothing, and only then a suggestion that you might want to talk to a person. If you never want that last part, everything above it still works and always will.
Who we work with
Advisor marketplaces where people offer readings and consultations. The advertisements supplied by Google AdSense are a separate matter: they are set apart from the text, they are not partner links, and the privacy page describes them. No placement in the text is for sale.
What we do not do
We do not recommend a service because it pays more. We do not write pages whose purpose is to funnel you into one. Nothing on this site is a paid review, and nobody has approval over what appears here.
We also do not pass anything about you to a partner. Following one of these links takes you to their site with nothing attached beyond the fact that you came from ours, and from that point their own privacy policy applies.
What we count
Partner links go through an address on this site before they leave it, so that we can count how often they are used. We record which link and when, and nothing about who. That is described in full on the privacy page.
